Tonight’s hotspot is Pink Paws. All the celebridogs are going to be there and I am sniffing for a good story.
Liver Snack addictions, back fanging and Pugs in pink flowered sundresses aside, I heard a rumor from a good source. It is all about bad black market pig ears creeping into the big name celebridog hang outs. Namely, Pink Paws in NYC, The Dog Pound in LA, Four on the Floor in Atlanta, Chew Bones in New Orleans (french quarter of course), Doggizen in Washington, D.C., Cuffs and Collars in London (those kinky bastards!), Mastiffs in Chicago, Ruffbucks in Seattle, The Green Pup in Vancouver and last but not least, Parson’s main hangout Cowdogs in Dallas. I knew that Michalene O’Flynn dabbled in the occasional high end pig ear and I knew Lucy the Pug loved our interview of last month. I was pretty sure that was my ticket into Pink Paws tonight and a great story.
I pull out my cell and dialed Lucy the Pug’s number.
“Lucy the Pug?”
“Em, is that you? My interview was fantastic! Did you see the magazine shots that went with it?”
I am momentarily stunned into silence. Her voice is crisp and distinctly free of Liver Snack hangover. “Yes, I did. You’re quite the beauty, Lucy. Actually, I have a big favor to ask you. I am hoping you can get me into Pink Paws tonight.”
“Oh my gaaaad! Do you want to hang with us? Michalene and I are going to Pink Paws! (I could hear her jumping around the living room in the background) Parson is meeting us there about 11pm. Pathetic Bob is bringing Sophie the Cheegle and Emil will be there too. I’m hoping Bo and Chewy will drop in from the west coast and maybe even Arko will show up.” Lucy the Pug is on a roll. Maybe I would get a word in next August. “There’ll be a bunch of locals, too. I’m wearing my pink polo dress. You should wear something pink too. Not a polo dress but pink.” Lucy pauses to breath.
“You can get me past the chain?” I finally interject.
“Girl, you are so in. Remember, wear pink!” And Lucy disconnects.
Pink! I stopped wearing pink in tenth grade. Shit. I have two hours to go shopping.
